Inverse Cut Crease Eye Look

I'm sure many of you have heard about beautiful cut crease technique of eye makeup application. If not, in simple words, cut crease make up is the way of applying eyeshadow by accentuating and defining the crease line of an eye. In today's tutorial I decided to do a cut crease makeup look with a little twist. Hope you enjoy it!

I named this look Inverse Cut Crease Eye look. In regular cut crease technique the line which defines crease is usually dark and distinct. As opposed to typical cut crease look in this tutorial the crease line is light and defined by dark bordering lines on the lid. Let's get started!

1. Once your eyelids are primed using eyeshadow base/primer, draw two lines bordering your crease line using eye pencil.
2. Using angled brush, smudge upper line upwards and soften the line.
3. Apply eyeshadow of your choice on the upper line and blend out the line. For this look I would recommend mid-toned shadows, I went with purple.
4. Take your eye pencil and fill the outer half of your lid as shown in the picture.
5. Apply the same shadow on your entire lid and blend nicely the liner. You can also use some black eyeshadow to blend the outer half of the lid.
6. Apply white eyeshadow on your crease line, between the border lines. Before applying white shadow I used white eyeliner in order to make the white shadow pop. Also blend the white shadow to the inner corner of the eye. Apply white eyeliner on your waterline and highlight your browbone area.
7. Bring down some purple shadow to the outer 1/3 of your lower lid, draw a winged line along your lash line, apply your favorite mascara and false lashes, if desired.

That's it! Look is complete! I really liked how it turned out! I think this look is wearable, beautiful, yet different. Enjoy recreating it!
